Lindsey Leong aka HELLA famous is a third generation Chinese American Bay Area born and raised spoken word artist, host, curator and community organizer. She is known for her movement promoting content matters and community first which she calls the intersection of art and activism. In 2012 she became the first and only woman host of Cito, later Cito.FAME.Us formerly the longest running open in San Jose. As a curator and organizer Lindsey is known for annual events including Love Is A Verb and the Hip Hop Prom. Lindsey is a graduate of San Jose City College and San Jose State. She graduated Magna Cum Luade with a major in Social Science and a minor in Asian American studies. Her biggest influence is Tupac Shakur but Lindsey is a self proclaimed 90's Hip Hop and R&B junkie. She also cites Brandy, Common, Jay Z, Frida Kahlo, Grace Lee Boggs and Yuri Kochiyama as major influences. Lindsey released her first Spoken Word project I Am A Metaphor on her birthday November 29th 2021 to celebrate ten years of the HELLA famous movement.
